Lovers of hostas and trees of all kinds, retired couple Lynn and Walter Widmer, have created, over 30 years, a tranquil shady oasis on Lee Avenue. A statuesque crane, flanked by hemlocks, graces their front door entrance. Walnut, oak, ash, tulip and red maples all provide plant material for Walter’s low maintenance compost heap that he boasts he never has to turn. Two white pines, that began as Christmas trees at Rolling Ridge Nursery, grow straight and tall, marking the passage of time and reminding the Widmer’s of Christmases past. Please take time to stroll or motor by and admire the blooming hostas and daylilies.
